In Pennsylvania Breweries 4th Edition, Lew Bryon takes you on a guided tour of the states Breweries and much, much more. To be sure, this is a book about Beer but that’s just a clever disguise for the amazing travel guide that lies underneath. Lew takes the reader to historical places of interest, local attractions, lodging, and restaurants and bars as well. Even those with just a vague interest in Beer (can’t imagine such a person) would be highly entertained by this book.

Lew’s writing style is comfortable that you will find yourself believing that you are along on a journey from town to town. The tour is organized regionally. Thus you may choose to begin your own journey through Pennsylvania, where your favorite brewery is located, near your hometown, or where your next visit to the state is located.

Each brewery begins with a conversation with the owners. It is quite clear Lew’s gotten to know each of these folks over the years. The beer geek details follow. Specifics about equipment, production, and styles brewed are provided in a concise manner. Then Lew provides the critical brewery visit information because hours, small area maps, and dining information.

BevX highly recommends Pennsylvania Breweries.
