BOW for the Week of: April 18 to April 24, 2012

Cider has been growing in popularity in US bars, restaurants, and taverns for the better part of two decades. Its growing popularity has far more to do with a slow and steady word of mouth rather than an assertive marketing blitz. Cider simply appeals to a wide range of palates.

Our featured cider is produced at Calvados Coeur de Lion, which has earned nearly 300 medals and awards in competitions since 1971. Sure, that's a lot of contests to enter but when you make the most distinctive Calvados, why not show it off? This fabulous spirit owes its success to the wonderful cider produced by Christian Drouin. (Distilling cider makes Calvados.)

The farm, cider facility, and distillery are located in the heart of the Pays d'Auge (Calvados' top district) recognized for producing the very best quality fruit in a region known for its tremendous orchards and cider. Christian Drouin, Pays d’Auge AOC Cider is perfection in a bottle.
