With just two ingredients, this cocktail could not be simpler. But don’t be fooled as this cocktail stirs much debate regarding the proper proportion of the two spirits. Some suggest a 50/50 ratio while we find that mix to be too sweet. BevX prefers a two to one ratio, which allows the sweet, honey tinged Drambuie to offer support.

The next area of debate centers on the choice of Whisky. We like to use a quality Blended Whisky but are not opposed to using a younger (12 years old age or less) Single Malt. Better spirits make better cocktails. When using Single Malts you add another dimension of flavor choices as smoky, seaside influenced malts offer a much different experience.
