Ingredients

2 oz. Quality Scotch Whisky (Blended or Single Malt)

1 oz. Amontillado Sherry

1/2 oz. Blackcurrant Liqueur

1/4 oz. Orange Liqueur

Argyle Elixir

Scotch Whisky and Sherry go together like peas and carrots. Most Scotch Whisky lovers know of the long practice of maturing Whisky in casks once used for Sherry. This cocktail plays on that pairing albeit seriously ramping-up the Sherry component. To further play on the cask-aging theme we have added a bit of blackcurrant liqueur that suggests finishing a Whisky in Cabernet Sauvignon casks.

The resulting cocktail is vibrant and lush with just a hint of sweetness. Kilt not included.

(Feel free to experiment by using different styles of Whisky from light to robust or even "peaty.")

 

Method
Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with a handful of ice. Stir well for 20 seconds and then strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass.
