Summers Estates Charbono “Villa Andriana Vineyard” Napa Valley 2007 (USA)

Deep, dense purple color. The nose is rather subtle with scents of dried black fruit and mineral lurking in the background. The palate is a bit more generous with notes of blackberry, black cherries and a good dose of mineral forward earth and hints of dried herbs. Perhaps this wine is in an awkward stage of maturation as there are no glaring flaws but it lacks the density and complexity one seeks in a wine of this price.
