Wakefield Cabernet Sauvignon Clare Valley 2006 (Australia)

Deep, dark, and bright garnet red color. The nose reveals classic Cabernet aromas of black cherry, cigar box, dark mocha, cassis, and exotic brown baking spices. The palate is generous with fruit while offering many subtle underlying flavors of oak, cinnamon, earth, and Herbes de Provence. This wine offers a tremendous amount of style and grace for a Cabernet at this price point. Try it with roasted game.

Wakefield Chardonnay South Australia 2007 (Australia)

Pale golden straw color. The nose is wonderfully expressive with scents of ripe peach, lychee, mango, almond butter, and pineapple with accents of vanilla. The palate confirms the nose offering a generous fruit mélange with a generous dose of wood. Citrus notes offer an ideal balancing note on a lingering semi-tart finish.

Wakefield Chardonnay Unwooded “Promised Land” South Australia 2007 (Australia)

Pale straw color. Bright, fresh crisp and clean aromas of green apple, pear, and citrus fill the nose. The palate confirms the nose being ultra fresh. Crisp and semi-tart while ripe and mouth-filling. A burst of flavor with each sip working very nicely as an aperitif or paired with hearty salads or Thai food.

Wakefield Riesling Clare Valley 2006 (Australia)

Pale straw color. The nose is incredibly aromatic marrying waves of wild flowers, nectarine, pineapple, and citrus. The palate is in full agreement delivering the flavors on a lush but crisp mid palate that perfectly balances ripe tropical notes with citrus. The finish lingers and fades slowly with a semi-tart finale. Complex while playful and versatile. Bravo!

Wakefield Riesling “Promised Land” South Australia 2007 (Australia)

Pale straw color. The nose is bright and fresh with scents of spring flowers, orange zest, and lemon cakes. On the palate this wine evolves further presenting flavors of red grapefruit, honeydew melon, and semi-sweet citrus. Wonderfully balanced and absolutely charming needing nothing more than a glass.

Wakefield Riesling “St. Andrews” Clare Valley 2005 (Australia)

Pale straw color. The aromatics are spectacular. It took several minutes for me to take my first sip as the complex scents of apricot, baked apples, mineral, mango, lime jam, spring flowers, and citrus stole my attention. The palate confirms the nose being generous and ponderous without ever appearing heavy. Rather it is sprite and lifting. Complex and perfectly balanced offering the quintessential Riesling experience.

Wakefield Shiraz Clare Valley 2006 (Australia)

Brilliant, bright ruby red color. The nose is expressive and complex, marrying scents of blackberry with licorice, rose petals, dark chocolate, oak, and vanilla. The flavors are in full agreement offering both ripe and dried berry notes on a supple but ultra balanced texture. It demonstrates great length with a softly trailing fruit and spice mélange. A real charmer.

Warre’s Otima 10 year old tawny Oporto (Portugal)

Brilliant amber to copper color. The nose is filled with notes of dried dates, fig, toasted walnuts, toffee, and honeycomb. The palate is in full agreement offering waves of dense dried fruits with touches of caramel, toffee, and complex sweet oak tones. Ideal with flavorful soft cheeses, roasted nuts, or dark chocolate.
